Role details

Key responsibilities

• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
• Handle project accounting, job costing, budget monitoring, and cost allocation.
• Prepare monthly financial statements, management reports, cash flow statements, and project cost reports.
• Maintain subcontractor accounts, payment certificates, retention amounts, and supplier reconciliations.
• Process supplier invoices, purchase orders, petty cash, and employee expense claims.
• Monitor project, material, labour, and equipment costs.
• Maintain VAT records and assist with UAE Corporate Tax compliance.
• Coordinate with project managers, quantity surveyors, procurement, and management on financial matters.
• Support audits, maintain financial documentation, and ensure timely entries in BuildSmart ERP and other accounting systems.

Mandatory requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline.
• At least two years of UAE accounting experience in a construction or contracting company; candidates without this experience will not be considered.
• Proficiency in UAE accounting software such as Tally, QuickBooks, Zoho Books, SAP, or a similar ERP system.
• Strong knowledge of construction project accounting, cost control, subcontractor payments, and retention accounting.
• Good knowledge of UAE VAT, Corporate Tax, and applicable accounting regulations.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including financial reporting and reconciliations.
• Strong numerical, analytical, organizational, and communication skills; ability to work independently and meet reporting deadlines.

Preferred software and candidate profile

• Practical knowledge of BuildSmart ERP is strongly preferred.
• Current availability in the UAE and prior experience with an Abu Dhabi-based construction or contracting company are preferred.

Pay

• The posting lists pay of AED 4,000–5,000 per month.

• Work is in person in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
