Overview

Our client is a well-established and reputable financial services organisation, committed to delivering high-quality financial solutions to its clients.

Due to increased business demands, they are looking to appoint an experienced Accountant on a

fixed-term 3 month contract

to support the finance team.

The Role

As an Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day finance function, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with accounting standards, and assisting with month-end and year-end activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and accounting entries.
  • Perform month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal postings and reconciliations.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and general ledger balances.
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
  • Assist with financial reporting, management accounts, and variance analysis.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes where required.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with internal and external audit requests.
  • Prepare VAT calculations and support tax compliance activities.
  • Maintain accurate financial documentation and support continuous process improvements.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to resolve finance-related queries.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Professional qualification (ACCA, ACA, CPA, CIMA, or equivalent) is preferred or currently in progress.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years' accounting experience, ideally within the financial services sector.
  • Strong understanding of IFRS and accounting principles.
  • Experience preparing management accounts and financial reconciliations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar.
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines.
