Our client is a well-established and reputable financial services organisation, committed to delivering high-quality financial solutions to its clients.
Due to increased business demands, they are looking to appoint an experienced Accountant on a
fixed-term 3 month contract
to support the finance team.
The Role
As an Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day finance function, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with accounting standards, and assisting with month-end and year-end activities.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and accounting entries.
- Perform month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal postings and reconciliations.
- Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and general ledger balances.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
- Assist with financial reporting, management accounts, and variance analysis.
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes where required.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Assist with internal and external audit requests.
- Prepare VAT calculations and support tax compliance activities.
- Maintain accurate financial documentation and support continuous process improvements.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to resolve finance-related queries.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Professional qualification (ACCA, ACA, CPA, CIMA, or equivalent) is preferred or currently in progress.
- Minimum of 3–5 years' accounting experience, ideally within the financial services sector.
- Strong understanding of IFRS and accounting principles.
- Experience preparing management accounts and financial reconciliations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Strong organisational and time management abilities.
- Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines.
