Job Description
The Academic Expert is responsible for providing specialized advisory support to senior leadership through the preparation of studies, analyses, and recommendations that support decision-making and enhance institutional performance.
The role contributes to the review and development of legislative, regulatory, and operational frameworks related to the Council’s activities and evaluates the impact of policies and strategic initiatives.
The role also provides expert insights and advisory solutions based on best practices and international standards, while coordinating with experts, consultants, and relevant stakeholders to strengthen the Council’s readiness, enhance the quality of its institutional outputs, and support the achievement of its strategic objectives and future aspirations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support strategic planning initiatives for the higher education sector in alignment with national priorities and the Emirate’s strategic directions.
- Align higher education institutions’ strategies with the Council’s strategic objectives and promote sector-wide integration and collaboration.
- Contribute to the development of academic programs and foster innovation and excellence in higher education.
- Support the development of academic and research talent to enhance the quality of education and scientific research.
- Oversee data management and institutional analytics to support evidence-based policymaking and decision-making.
- Monitor performance indicators and ranking frameworks to enhance the competitiveness of higher education institutions.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree or PhD in Quality Management, Higher Education, or a related field.
Experience Required
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in quality assurance, academic accreditation, higher education management, or a related field.
Skills And Competencies
- Ability to provide specialized advisory services and strategic recommendations to support senior leadership decision-making.
- Advanced expertise in strategic consulting and the development of evidence-based recommendations.
- Strong skills in conducting studies, research, and policy analysis.
- Ability to analyze data and information and derive strategic insights and recommendations.
- Sound knowledge of legislation, policies, governance frameworks, and regulations related to higher education and scientific research.
- Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and change management capabilities.
- Ability to develop and oversee strategic initiatives and projects.
- Excellent stakeholder management and partnership-building skills with experts and relevant entities.
- Advanced skills in preparing reports, executive presentations, and recommendations for senior leadership.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and influencing skills in both Arabic and English.
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
