3D Design & Prototyping Technician

What You'll Do

• Design and develop detailed 3D models for chocolate and confectionery mold production
• Create prototypes using FDM, SLA, and resin-based 3D printing technologies
• Prepare and optimize print files, including slicing, supports, scaling, and orientation
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot 3D printers and related equipment
• Perform post-processing, including cleaning, sanding, curing, and finishing
• Produce high-quality silicone and rubber molds from 3D-printed masters
• Select appropriate materials and processes for prototyping and mold fabrication
• Collaborate with design and production teams to improve product quality and manufacturability
• Maintain organized project files, design records, and production documentation
• Continuously explore new techniques and technologies to improve efficiency and product quality

• Essential Skills & Experience

• Proven experience in **3D modeling, prototyping, and product development**
• Strong proficiency in:
• Blender
• ArtCAM
• Adobe Illustrator
• Experience with 3D printing technologies:
• FDM
• SLA
• DLP
• Hands-on experience with:
• PLA and resin printing materials
• Silicone mold making and casting processes
• Platinum-cure silicone systems (Liquid Silicone 25 & 50 preferred)
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to interpret sketches, concepts, technical drawings, and production requirements

Advantageous Skills

• Experience with any of the following is a strong plus:
• Fusion 360
• SolidWorks
• ZBrush
• CNC machining
• Laser cutting
• Product rendering and visualization
• Food-grade silicone mold manufacturing
• Chocolate mold production or confectionery-related products
