Wet Utilities Inspector

Role overview

Inspection responsibilities

• Inspect stormwater drainage, sewerage, potable water, and irrigation networks, including pipelines, manholes, catch basins, gullies, chambers, valves, fittings, and related structures.
• Verify pipeline alignment, levels, gradients, bedding, jointing, and installation against approved drawings and specifications.
• Inspect excavation, shoring, dewatering, pipe laying, backfilling, and compaction; monitor pressure, leakage, CCTV, and other required tests.
• Inspect concrete works and precast elements associated with wet utilities.
• Review inspection requests, method statements, shop drawings, and material approvals; check delivered materials against approved submittals.
• Monitor reinstatement and coordination with roads and other utility networks; identify non-conforming work and follow up corrective actions.
• Coordinate with engineers, contractors, surveyors, and other utility inspectors; maintain inspection, daily, testing, and quality records.
• Support final inspections, testing, commissioning, and handover of wet utilities networks.

Requirements

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Relevant experience in wet utilities inspection on infrastructure projects.
• Knowledge of stormwater drainage, sewerage, potable water, irrigation networks, pipeline installation, manholes, chambers, testing, backfilling, and compaction.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and method statements; knowledge of inspection procedures, material approvals, and quality control.
• UAE infrastructure project experience is preferred.
