Job purpose
Support safe and cost-efficient operation of Bahri Chemicals vessels.
Analyse operations and take initiative to improve vessel performance and promote best practices.
Voyage management and scheduling
- Support voyage progress tracking and KPIs for assigned vessels, including voyage orders, vessel scheduling, and documentation.
- Support timely scheduling and accurate berth information for vessel departures and arrivals.
- Liaise with vessel masters and agents, process demurrage claims, and handle day-to-day operational duties.
Coordination and compliance
- Provide voyage-management information to chartering personnel, ship managers, vessel management, and port agents as required.
- Monitor assigned vessels’ vetting status and ensure compliance with voyage orders and charter-party obligations.
- Update systems with accurate operational information, including port timings, cargo nominations, and cargo loaded.
Service and teamwork
- Support the development of customer relationships and maintain relationships with service providers.
- Help the team meet daily requirements and deadlines by addressing queries and resolving work-related issues.
- Provide technical on-the-job training, advise functional teams or projects in the area of specialization, and lead multidisciplinary projects or initiatives.
Qualifications and experience
- A technical diploma, diploma in transportation, logistics, or maritime studies, commercially related shipping subjects, or equivalent.
- At least eight years of experience in chartering or relevant areas such as commercial shipping in chemical tankers.
