Job purpose
Monitor day-to-day vessel operations and serve as the focal point between ships and the organization.
Oversee safety, certifications, and regulatory requirements so company vessels operate safely, efficiently, economically, and in compliance.
Inspection
- Arrange and respond to SIRE/CDI inspections requested by the owner’s commercial department and to flag inspections.
- Visit vessels to support pre-vetting inspections and conduct other management-requested audits to identify potential risks.
Port agencies
- Participate in appointing port agencies and follow up on timely disbursements and invoicing for owner’s husbandry matters.
Security
- Monitor vessel transits in high-risk areas, oversee alert testing, and liaise with service providers to troubleshoot issues.
Vessel operations and safety
- Monitor and support vessel loading and discharging in coordination with commercial operators.
- Support assigned vessels on operations, safety, and emergencies, and assist with safe voyage operations.
- Investigate navigational and operational incidents.
Qualifications and experience
- 3–7 years of sailing experience as a Chief Engineer aboard an LPG ship.
- At least 2 years of shore-based experience as an LPG Technical Superintendent.
