Key responsibilities
- Manage the general ledger and ensure transactions are recorded accurately and promptly.
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities.
- Prepare and review journal entries, management accounts, balance sheet schedules, and financial analyses.
- Perform bank, customer, supplier, intercompany, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Monitor receivables and payables; review invoices, payment requests, and supporting documents.
- Assist with cash flow monitoring, payment planning, and banking activities.
- Support standalone and consolidated financial statements under applicable US GAAP requirements.
- Coordinate external audits and provide audit schedules, reconciliations, confirmations, and supporting documents.
- Support intercompany accounting, related-party reconciliations, and transfer pricing documentation.
- Ensure compliance with financial policies, approval matrices, and accounting procedures.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis; review junior staff entries and provide guidance.
- Support ERP, accounting-process, and internal-control improvements; liaise with relevant stakeholders.
Qualifications and experience
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, commerce, or a related discipline.
- US CPA professional qualification is mandatory.
- Approximately 5–7 years of relevant accounting and finance experience.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end closing.
- Audit-firm experience is preferred.
- Experience in a multinational, trading, energy, or similar environment is preferred.
- NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or equivalent ERP/accounting system experience is preferred.
