Treasury Analyst

Role Overview

Reconciliation

• Perform hands-on reconciliations across all major payment channels, including cash, cheques, cards, and bank transfers.
• Execute the full range of reconciliation types — bank reconciliation, account and ledger reconciliation, suspense and clearing account reconciliation, intercompany reconciliation, and exception/break management.
• Identify, investigate, and independently resolve reconciliation differences, ensuring timely clearance of outstanding items and breaks.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of the full range of payment types and end-to-end payment flows to ensure accurate matching and settlement.

Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Coordination

• Manage and communicate effectively with stakeholders at various levels, articulating financial insights and reconciliation outcomes clearly and professionally.
• Coordinate directly with banking partners on settlements, queries, and discrepancies, ensuring prompt and accurate resolution.
• Work closely with IT teams on system issues, process automation, and data and reporting requirements to enhance reconciliation efficiency and control.

Analysis & Control

• Analyse transaction data to detect anomalies, root causes of breaks, and opportunities for process improvement.
• Support the strengthening of internal controls and the accuracy of treasury reporting through diligent investigation and documentation.

Required Skills & Competencies

• Proven, hands-on expertise in performing reconciliations across cash, cheques, cards, and bank transfers.
• Strong working knowledge of all reconciliation types and a solid understanding of payment types and end-to-end payment flows.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to identify, investigate, and resolve reconciliation differences independently.
• Confident stakeholder management and professional communication skills, including the ability to articulate financial insights clearly.
• Comfortable coordinating directly with banks and collaborating with IT teams on systems, automation, and reporting.

Qualifications & Experience

• Extensive background in treasury operations, complex bank transaction management, and financial reconciliation.
• Relevant experience within a banking, telecom, or large corporate treasury/finance environment is preferred.
• A degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline is desirable.
