Role Overview
Traffic Controller / Banksman role in AMCO's Transport department in Redditch.
Supports safe, efficient, and compliant transport operations and serves as a day-to-day contact for drivers, customers, and the transport team.
Salary
- Salary is £29,500 plus 5% shift allowance.
Contract and Hours
- Permanent, full-time contract.
- 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 2pm to 10pm.
Traffic and Transport Operations
- Design and manage safe on-site traffic systems, vehicle routes, speed limits, and parking and loading areas.
- Direct HGVs, lorries, cranes, and plant machinery during reversing and complex manoeuvres.
- Ensure driver arrival and departure procedures are followed.
- Monitor entrances and exits, including gatehouse checks and audits.
- Act as first escalation point for the Transport Office, Goods In, and Warehouse.
- Support daily operation of the department, driver team, and AMCO UK transport contracts.
- Track transport through Webfleet and arrange agency driver cover when required.
Compliance and Administration
- Ensure vehicles and trailers are presented for maintenance and servicing on time.
- Log and action vehicle and trailer damage and defects.
- Support compliance for staff, vehicles, and trailers.
- Maintain the individual training matrix and update KPIs weekly.
- Log operational issues on the relevant system.
- Provide customer service, manage suppliers, complete invoicing, and manage fuel cards and AdBlue drawdowns.
Required Training
- Banksman training is required.
