Test Engineer

Location and work arrangement
- The role is fully onsite in Crewe.
Contract and hours
- The contract is outside IR35 and runs until 23 December 2026.
- The stated work schedule is 35 hours per week.

Hands-on work involves vehicles, test rigs, test benches, and vehicle software, alongside system testing, fault investigation, requirements analysis, and test automation.
Works with functional teams and suppliers to investigate integration issues and deliver technical solutions.
Responsibilities
- Construct, maintain, and manage test rigs and vehicles across the relevant vehicle systems.
- Capture system integration and test requirements; support test planning and validation against quality targets.
- Plan weekly project activities, report status, and collaborate with teams and suppliers.
- Investigate test and integration challenges, analyze vehicle logs, establish root causes, and manage integration issues.
- Conduct requirements analysis, develop test approaches, and automate testing using Python, Robot Framework, and Anna Framework.
- Maintain and document test environment configurations.
Requirements
- Hands-on vehicle experience gained in a dealership, OEM, or similar automotive environment.
- Familiarity with vehicle software, test benches, vehicle components, vehicle lifecycle, and associated software processes.
- Practical technician skills and capability to work on vehicles.
- Experience with vehicle or system testing, integration, and fault investigation; ability to analyze vehicle logs and support root-cause investigation.
- Knowledge of test automation using Python, Robot Framework, or Anna Framework.
- Full driving licence required.
Contract status
