Tile mason

Job summary

Key responsibilities

• Install tiles on floors, walls, countertops, and other surfaces; measure, mark, cut, and position them to project layouts.
• Prepare, level, and repair surfaces; apply mortar, adhesives, grout, sealants, and waterproofing materials as required.
• Use tile cutters, wet saws, grinders, and other tools to cut and shape tiles.
• Ensure alignment, spacing, leveling, and finished edges around fixtures and challenging areas.
• Inspect work and repair, replace, or re-grout damaged tiles.
• Follow drawings and specifications, keep work areas safe, and coordinate with project teams to meet deadlines.
• Work in renovation and fit-out environments, including occupied or partially completed buildings.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Tile Mason, Tile Setter, Tile Installer, or similar role.
• Practical knowledge of installation, surface preparation, adhesives, grout, sealants, and listed tile materials.
• Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and layouts; proficiency with tile installation tools.
• Attention to detail, high workmanship standards, ability to work independently and in a team, and good communication and coordination skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred qualifications and skills

• Large-format tile, natural stone, custom mosaic, or detailed tile-work experience is preferred.
• Waterproofing knowledge for bathrooms, showers, pools, and other wet areas is preferred.
• Renovation, interior fit-out, construction, residential, commercial, phased-project, or occupied-building experience is preferred.

Pay

• Pay is AED 2,200–2,500 per month.
