The analyst undertakes functional software testing to ensure quality aligns with organisational risk appetite and agreed plans and strategies.
The role is part of an agile team focused on collaboration and continuous improvement, with both manual and automated testing.
Key responsibilities
- Design, prepare, and execute test cases based on business and technical requirements.
- Maintain traceability between requirements, acceptance criteria, test scenarios, and test outcomes.
- Manage defects using approved tools, supporting resolution and retesting.
- Support automated test script execution and maintenance, and maintain reusable testing assets.
- Create and manage test data for testing environments.
- Collaborate with business, development, and technical teams to clarify requirements and resolve issues.
- Contribute to testing best practice and continuous improvement.
- Test software upgrades against functional requirements and operational scenarios, checking agreed criteria.
- Embed testing throughout development to support quality delivery, reduce risk, and maintain compliance.
About you
- Proven hands-on software testing experience across analysis, design, execution, defect management, evidence capture, risk assessment, and progress reporting.
- Strong understanding of test management, traceability, test cases, test data, and quality assurance methodologies.
- Able to engage stakeholders and gather information from Product Owners, Subject Matter Experts, and business users.
- Able to learn complex applications and business domains quickly, share knowledge, and support team capability development.
- Committed to continuous improvement and aware of testing trends, tools, technologies, and best practices.
- ISTQB Foundation Certified Tester certification or equivalent recognised software testing certification is essential.
