Role Overview
Hiring a cost engineer with direct experience in TAQA substation projects to prepare detailed cost estimates, quantity take-offs, and tender pricing for high-voltage power transmission tenders.
Key Responsibilities
- Review ITTs, single-line diagrams, civil drawings, and BOQs to define pricing scope.
- Prepare detailed estimates for EHV/HV equipment, including GIS/AIS switchgear, transformers, protection and control, and SCADA.
- Prepare estimates for civil works.
- Normalize vendor quotations, build resource-based unit rates, and account for site overheads and risks.
- Coordinate across EPC teams.
- Maintain a reusable cost database for post-award execution.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Quantity Surveying.
- Direct, demonstrable work experience on TAQA substation projects is mandatory.
- 5+ years in tender pricing or cost control for substation and transmission EPC projects.
- Advanced MS Excel skills, strong knowledge of EPC cost structures, and vendor quote analysis.
