Technical Project Manager

Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise the technical department and engineering team.
• Review project drawings, specifications, and contract documents to identify technical requirements and risks.
• Ensure proper coordination between architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines.
• Lead the preparation, review, and submission of shop drawings, method statements, material submittals, and technical documentation.
• Provide technical support and solutions to project teams during all stages of construction.
• Liaise with consultants, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers on all technical matters.
• Monitor design changes, technical clarifications, and site instructions to ensure proper implementation.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, local authority requirements, safety standards, and company procedures.
• Support project planning by identifying technical constraints, resource needs, and engineering priorities.
• Participate in project progress meetings and provide updates on technical issues and pending approvals.
• Oversee value engineering initiatives and propose cost-effective technical solutions where applicable.
• Ensure timely closure of RFIs, NCR-related technical actions, and consultant comments.
• Review and approve technical submissions before forwarding them to consultants or clients.
• Coordinate with procurement and commercial teams regarding material approvals and technical compliance.
• Mentor and develop engineers and technical staff to improve team capability and performance.
• Maintain proper technical records, logs, and document control for all projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Master’s Degree is an advantage.
• Professional certifications are an added value.

Experience

• Minimum
• 8–12 years
• of experience in the construction industry.
• At least
• 3–5 years
• in a managerial or senior technical role.
• Strong experience in building construction projects such as residential, commercial, industrial, or high-rise developments.
• UAE/GCC experience is preferred if applicable.

• Good understanding of QA/QC and HSE requirements.

Authority Level

• Review and approve technical documents before consultant/client submission.
• Assign technical tasks and priorities within the engineering team.
• Recommend technical solutions, design improvements, and resource requirements.
• Escalate major technical risks or contractual concerns to senior management.
