Role overview

Ocean Infinity seeks a senior, delivery-focused Technical Program Manager within its Software Engineering organisation.

The role owns delivery across complex product and engineering programs and works with Product, senior leadership, engineering managers, and tech leads.

The position coordinates with IT, CyberSec, Data Platform, and Robotics & Autonomy organisations.

Responsibilities

  • Own complex cross-team software program delivery against milestones, managing timelines and time, quality, and risk trade-offs.
  • Set organisation-wide delivery standards, cadences, and success criteria; diagnose slippage and drive resolution.
  • Improve engineering ways of working, sprint health, and delivery practices; surface risks and test assumptions.
  • Manage cross-organisation dependencies and unblock delivery across IT, CyberSec, Data Platform, and Robotics & Autonomy.
  • Coordinate senior engineers to resolve architecture and dependency decisions that block delivery.
  • Translate business objectives into actionable plans and own cross-team initiatives end to end.
  • Coordinate planning cycles and periodic reviews, contributing to organisational planning and prioritisation.
  • Plan team capacity and resources, track delivery health, and present risks and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Coach engineering managers and tech leads to strengthen delivery practices.

What the role requires

  • Significant technical program or delivery management experience, including at senior or lead level; relevant complex technology, engineering, or operational environments are ideal.
  • Strong technical fluency and a proven record owning large, complex cross-functional programs in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
  • Ability to align separate organisations, manage dependencies, and coach engineering managers and tech leads.
  • Able to communicate trade-offs to senior leadership and translate objectives into meaningful development work.
  • Fluent with delivery tools such as Jira; independently manages tracking and reporting.
  • Brings structure without unnecessary process and operates with independence and accountability.

Desirable experience

  • Experience within or alongside software engineering organisations is desirable.
  • Consulting, venture-building, or high-growth scale-up experience is desirable.
  • Exposure to maritime, defence, or energy sectors is desirable.

Compensation

  • The description ends with an incomplete salary statement beginning “Salary: £120,”; no pay cadence is provided.
