Role overview
Technical Manager role focused on civil construction project coordination and technical delivery.
Project and technical duties
- Arrange civil project shop drawings and prepare material submittals.
- Assist the Project Manager with daily, weekly, and monthly reporting.
- Manage material availability and track materials received, used on site, transferred, or returned.
- Resolve technical drawing and site issues, and coordinate civil and MEP works.
- Prepare method statements for civil activities and check site work against approved drawings and specifications.
- Negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers on quotations, and follow up on timely shop drawing and material submissions.
- Propose technical ideas to save time and money.
- Negotiate variation costs with consultants and clients under FIDIC contracts.
Requirements
- Degree in civil engineering or construction.
- At least 10 years of UAE construction experience with major contracting companies; 10 years as a Technical Manager is specified.
- Strong knowledge of Abu Dhabi and Dubai Municipality, Civil Defense, Green Building, and Estidama authority requirements.
- Bachelor's degree is listed as preferred.
