Position Summary
The Technical Inside Sales Engineer supports commercial HVAC projects through equipment selection, pricing, proposals, technical submittals, and order coordination. This position works closely with mechanical engineers, contractors, and internal teams to provide accurate information and help projects move smoothly from quotation through equipment delivery.
Responsibilities
- Review mechanical blueprints and specifications to determine equipment requirements.
- Select and price appropriate HVAC equipment for each project.
- Prepare accurate proposals and quotations.
- Prepare technical submittals for approval by the design engineer.
- Coordinate equipment ordering and shipment to job sites for installation.
- Communicate technical features, specifications, and equipment requirements to mechanical engineers and contractors.
- Maintain organized project records and track quotes, approvals, orders, and shipments.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Heating and air conditioning experience is helpful but not required.
- Ability to understand and clearly explain technical features.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Excellent verbal, listening, and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and disciplined work habits.
- Must comply with the company’s zero-tolerance drug policy.
💵 Pay & Incentives
Competitive pay based on experience.
🩺 Medical, Dental & Vision
Coverage is available beginning the first day of the month following 30 days of employment. Mechanical Concepts pays 50% of the medical insurance premium for employee or family coverage. Dental and vision insurance available.
💰 Retirement & Profit Sharing
401(k) eligibility after 6 months of employment. Company matches 100% of the first 3% contributed, plus 50% of the next 2%. Optional company profit-sharing contribution; historically funded each year since the plan was established.
