Key responsibilities

• As Technical Director, you will be responsible for:
• Leading civil and structural engineering design delivery and ensuring project objectives are met
• Acting as a senior technical authority, supporting design teams with direction and decision-making
• Liaising directly with clients and project stakeholders to ensure requirements and expectations are achieved
• Overseeing design quality, including drawings, specifications, and contract documentation
• Ensuring all designs comply with relevant codes, standards, regulations, and procedures
• Managing change control by identifying scope/schedule impacts and supporting planning and cost control
• Representing the discipline at external meetings and acting as a senior ambassador for the business
• Promoting sustainability and safety as key design considerations across all stages of delivery
• Monitoring team development needs and supporting performance through mentoring and structured feedback
• Supporting regional business growth through client relationship development and identifying new opportunities
• Contributing to recruitment and helping build high-performing teams to support future project demand
• Predicting and planning future resource requirements, including project plans and capability forecasting

• To be successful in this role, you will ideally bring:
• A strong degree in

Civil or Structural Engineering

• (or equivalent experience)
• **Chartered Engineer status**
• (or equivalent)
• Extensive experience across a wide range of civil and structural technical areas
• Proven delivery of projects from
• concept design through to completion
• , including small and large-scale developments
• Strong expertise in civil and structural design tools, analysis methods, and modern engineering software
• Ability to deliver engineering outputs within budget, programme, and schedule while maintaining technical integrity
• Excellent leadership, interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
• Proven ability to coordinate teams, plan resources, negotiate outcomes, and manage stakeholders effectively
