The Retail Team Leader is responsible for leading team members to achieve goals, delegates tasks based on each member’s strengths and skills and offering the training necessary to complete certain tasks in order to deliver the highest standards of customer service and to maximize sales and profitability in line with company’s objectives. He/she is also responsible for the inventory, maintenance, and external appearance of his/her shop.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the retail team to ensure excellent customer service and achievement of sales targets.
- Communicate sales plans, assign tasks, and monitor team performance.
- Handle customer inquiries, requests, and complaints, escalating issues when necessary.
- Train, coach, and develop team members to enhance product knowledge, communication skills, and overall performance.
- Assist in staff scheduling to meet operational requirements efficiently.
- Monitor store appearance, product displays, and shelf stock levels to maintain high presentation standards.
- Manage inventory, ensure product availability, and maintain accurate pricing.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, payment and exchange procedures, and security practices.
- Identify and address security risks, theft, and loss prevention issues.
- Ensure promotions are accurately implemented and merchandised according to company standards.
- Maintain compliance with quality, customer service, health, and safety standards.
Requirements
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in retail operations, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or team leadership role.
- Proven experience in customer service, sales, inventory management, and team supervision.
- Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent; Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, or a related field is an advantage.
- Proficiency in POS systems and basic computer applications (MS Office)
