Longboard is seeking an experienced Team Lead Software Engineer with strong Python expertise to lead a small team of developers supporting our manufacturing and business operations. Reporting to the Business Systems Manager, this role plays a critical part in designing, building, and maintaining software solutions that power inventory management, factory workflow, shipping processes, ERP synchronization, and customer-facing applications.

You will collaborate closely with operations business analyst liaisons and cross-functional stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable, secure, and efficient technical solutions. In addition to hands-on development, you will oversee backlog refinement, provide task estimates, assign work across the team, conduct code reviews, maintain coding standards, and support release planning to ensure high-quality deliverables aligned with Longboard’s operational goals.

This is a leadership role that combines technical excellence, strategic thinking, hands-on development, and team mentorship in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

You are a highly skilled Python engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and leading others to success. You balance hands-on coding with team leadership and take pride in writing clean, maintainable, efficient, and well-documented code.

You bring:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science

5+ years of experience in software development or computer programming, with strong expertise in Python and ReactJS

5+ years of experience writing complex SQL queries

2+ years of Team Lead experience

Strong testing skills

Excellent organizational and time-management skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Nice to have:

ERP integration experience, ideally with Acumatica

CRM integration experience, ideally Salesforce

FastAPI experience

Jenkins experience

Docker or Kubernetes experience

AWS experience

YAML configuration experience

Zebra Enterprise Browser or ZPL experience for barcode and label formatting

ARGO CD experience

Experience with AI-assisted coding, including code generation, debugging, testing, and review
