Role purpose

Supports students' learning, wellbeing, and safety throughout the school day.

Works closely with teachers to support classroom learning, students with diverse needs, and an inclusive environment.

Classroom support

  • Assist teachers with lessons and classroom activities; provide individual or small-group support to students who need additional help.
  • Support Students of Determination, ELL learners, and students with diverse learning needs.
  • Prepare and organize learning materials and classroom resources; encourage confidence, independence, and positive learning habits.
  • Supervise students during class activities, break times, and school events when required.

Wellbeing and professional responsibilities

  • Promote positive behavior, respect, and inclusion; support social and emotional wellbeing and help maintain a safe, orderly classroom.
  • Report student welfare or safeguarding concerns to the appropriate staff member.
  • Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and integrity; follow school safeguarding, welfare, and safety policies.
  • Collaborate with teachers, staff, and operations; attend relevant training, meetings, and school events as requested.

Essential qualifications and experience

  • Experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with teachers and school staff.
  • Patient, caring, and supportive approach to students; understanding of child safety and wellbeing responsibilities.

Desirable experience

  • Previous Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant experience is desirable.
  • Experience supporting Students of Determination or ELL learners is desirable.
  • Experience working in UAE schools is desirable.
