Role purpose

Teaching and assessment

• Plan curriculum, lessons, and resources to meet learning and assessment objectives and diverse student needs.
• Use technology and innovative strategies to promote engagement and student-led learning.
• Assess and track learning, adapt instruction, and give timely, constructive feedback and progress reports.
• Link learning to real life and careers; nurture student strengths through differentiation and personalized approaches.

Classroom, communication, and wellbeing

• Maintain a safe, respectful, inclusive classroom with clear expectations and appropriate behaviour management.
• Support students’ academic and personal growth, wellbeing, life skills, and individual needs in collaboration with school support services.
• Communicate with students, parents, colleagues, and stakeholders; share progress, address concerns, and meet communication deadlines.
• Use school portals and platforms, including email, ClassDojo, iSams, and CPOMS, to share information and resources.

School contribution and professional practice

• Follow safeguarding, health and safety, student welfare, and other school policies; report concerns and incidents through required channels.
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development, quality assurance, reflective practice, and peer observation.
• Contribute to school events, extracurricular activities, clubs, competitions, and trips; promote the school’s values and community.
• Review and align curriculum, teaching materials, and assessments with Qatari culture, national values, and MOE ethics.

Education and qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in teaching from an accredited institution, with a degree subject on the MOE-approved list.
• Postgraduate Certificate in Education and required teaching certification for Qatar MOEHE.
• Meet the school’s professional teacher education requirements; Child Care and Protection is listed among the education requirements.

Skills and knowledge

• English is mandatory; written and spoken English command is required.
• Know school assessment methods, curriculum development, effective teaching theory, and approaches for individual student needs.
• Demonstrate communication, presentation, organization, time management, record keeping, reporting, and data collection skills.
• Use role-related computer applications, including word processing and spreadsheet tools.
• Demonstrate professionalism, collaboration, interpersonal skills, safeguarding awareness, and willingness to pursue professional development.

• Arabic may be used where necessary and appropriate for stakeholder communication.
