Role and school

Teaching and learning

• Deliver inspiring lessons and plan engaging curriculum-aligned sessions for the full range of student abilities.
• Organize classroom resources and displays, motivate pupils, and adapt teaching based on reflection and student progress.
• Meet with speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, or educational psychologists when required.
• Embed the school’s Teacher and Learner DNA language and attitudes throughout the curriculum.

Assessment and student support

• Assess and record student development using Target Tracker and use assessment data to inform planning and interventions.
• Take responsibility for class progress and share progress with parents and carers at conferences and other meetings.
• Support positive behaviour, student wellbeing, and relationships in line with school policy.

Wider school duties

• Collaborate with teachers, curriculum support staff, and colleagues, and contribute to curriculum action groups.
• Support school events, outings, and activities, which may take place in evenings or on weekends.
• Communicate with parents and carers using school systems such as CPOMS where appropriate.
• Run a weekly extracurricular activity each term and contribute to the wider school community.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in a related subject with a PGCE or other teaching qualification.
• At least 1–2 years of teaching experience.
• Previous experience with students whose first language is not English.
• Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check or police check.
