Fabric cutting duties
- Measure and cut fabrics accurately to required dimensions and patterns.
- Make clean, straight cuts without damaging or pulling fabric threads; account for grain, direction, stretch and pattern alignment.
- Match patterns between pieces, trim edges precisely and remove loose threads neatly.
- Use scissors, rotary cutters, blades, rulers and measuring tools confidently.
- Handle delicate and premium fabrics carefully, inspect finished work and correct small imperfections.
- Minimize fabric waste through accurate measuring and cutting.
Background and skills
- A background in tailoring shops, fashion production, garment factories or alteration shops is described as good background.
Workplace
- Work location is in person.
