Job description:

Infrastructure Systems & Operations Management

• Support the implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of core infrastructure systems including servers, networks, storage, and virtualization platforms.
• Assist in executing infrastructure projects involving hardware upgrades, system migrations, and application deployments, in coordination with vendors and service providers.
• Monitor the health of IT systems, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Maintain configuration and asset documentation for all infrastructure systems.
• Conduct capacity planning and recommend improvements to scale systems cost-effectively.
• Assist in license tracking, renewal planning, and asset lifecycle management.

Network, Firewall, and Data Security

• Support the management and monitoring of network services including LAN/WAN, DNS, DHCP, and VPNs.
• Oversee the configuration and monitoring of firewalls, IDS/IPS systems, and endpoint protection tools.
• Ensure data integrity and confidentiality through implementation and review of access controls, encryption policies, and audit logs.
• Participate in periodic vulnerability assessments and support the remediation of findings.
• Assist in enforcing security policies, patch management, and compliance with IT security frameworks.

Backup, Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity

• Monitor and maintain enterprise backup systems ensuring consistent success rates and quick recovery capabilities.
• Review and improve disaster recovery plans (DRP) and business continuity processes in alignment with business needs.
• Regularly test backup and restoration procedures, and document the results.
• Ensure backups meet compliance, retention, and disaster recovery objectives.

Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC)

• Assist in establishing and maintaining IT controls and standard operating procedures for infrastructure-related areas.
• Support internal and external audits by providing necessary reports and documentation.
• Ensure that infrastructure systems comply with applicable IT governance frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, GDPR, etc.).
• Identify and track operational risks and participate in mitigation planning under guidance from the Head of IT.

Systems Administration & Support

• Perform regular system administration tasks for Windows/Linux servers, virtualization environments, and infrastructure applications.
• Conduct daily/weekly health checks, patching, log reviews, and performance analysis.
• Provide Level 3 escalation support for end-user devices, servers, and storage.
• Maintain and optimize Active Directory, group policies, file servers, and user access provisioning.
• Coordinate AMC renewals and service ticket escalations with infrastructure vendors.

Database & Application Systems Support

• Assist in Microsoft SQL Server administration: backups, tuning, performance monitoring, and integrity checks.
• Support the operations of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and FACTS ERP infrastructure components (not functional/process side).
• Monitor system logs, maintain uptime, and escalate issues to vendors as required.
• Track SLAs and vendor response timelines, ensuring prompt issue resolution.

Innovation, Automation & Cost Optimization

• Identify and recommend opportunities for cost-saving initiatives across infrastructure operations (e.g., power management, cloud alternatives, hardware reuse).
• Support the adoption of emerging technologies, such as cloud integrations, containerization, and modern endpoint management.
• Participate in process automation initiatives aimed at reducing repetitive manual tasks and increasing operational efficiency.
• Contribute to innovation pilots, POCs, or system upgrades initiated by the Head of IT.

Collaboration, Documentation & Vendor Coordination

• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners for infrastructure improvements and support.
• Maintain accurate documentation for infrastructure topology, configurations, procedures, and SLAs.
• Track hardware/software procurement, inventory, and renewals.
• Support audits, budgeting exercises, and strategic infrastructure planning in close coordination with the Head of IT.
