Role purpose

Markets strategy and solutions

• Analyze macroeconomic, geopolitical, and market developments using fundamental analysis, quantitative tools, and scenario analysis.
• Develop portfolio recommendations, hedging strategies, and financial solutions, including derivatives such as forwards, swaps, and options.
• Improve analytical frameworks and risk analytics; address portfolio and balance-sheet exposures, including tail risks.
• Present market views, investment theses, risks, and expected outcomes to Treasury leadership, investment teams, and business units.

Transaction execution and governance

• Develop implementation strategies and recommend transaction instruments, timing, and execution approaches based on market conditions, liquidity, pricing, and execution risk.
• Structure transactions and support or undertake execution within delegated authorities and governance requirements.
• Maintain banking-counterparty relationships and improve implementation processes and controls.
• Contribute to Financial Risk Solutions strategy, policies, frameworks, methodologies, systems, and operating practices.

Stakeholder leadership and reporting

• Advise stakeholders on market developments and their portfolio, funding, and risk implications; develop understanding of business and investment needs.
• Support the Director of LPMS in strategy execution and Markets Strategy capability development.
• Lead and supervise assigned team members, coach and mentor colleagues, and support UAE Nationals' development.
• Prepare market views, investment proposals, strategic recommendations, and functional reports for leadership and senior management.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or another numerate discipline from a recognized university.
• 16–18 years of relevant experience in a financial institution, sovereign wealth fund, asset manager, or multinational organization.
• Experience in cross-asset strategy, investment solutions or derivatives structuring, and portfolio hedging or tail-risk strategies.
• Demonstrated investment-idea generation and independent market views across global financial markets.
• Experience translating market views into investment, portfolio, funding, and hedging recommendations and implementing derivatives transactions.
• Experience advising senior stakeholders and using fundamental, quantitative, and scenario analysis.

Knowledge and expertise

• Deep expertise in listed and OTC derivatives across rates, FX, commodities, and equities, including valuation, structuring, and implementation.
• Strong understanding of investment ideas, portfolio positioning, risk-reward assessment, and financial risk management.
• Knowledge of Treasury, capital markets, institutional investment practices, and balance-sheet management.

Preferred qualifications

• A master's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline is preferred.
• CFA, ACT, FRM, or equivalent professional qualifications are preferred.

Workplace

• Hybrid working is offered; remote working is available up to five days a month.
