Reservations Duties
- Ensure accuracy of room blocks, reservations, and group market codes.
- Communicate company values and culture to new employees.
- Review and implement new reservations procedures.
- Process reservations, requests, changes, and cancellations by phone, fax, or email.
- Identify guest reservation needs and determine the appropriate room type.
- Verify room type availability and rate.
- Explain guarantee, special rate, and cancellation policies to callers.
- Address and document special requests.
- Answer questions about hotel facilities, services, and room accommodations.
- Apply sales techniques to maximize revenue.
- Enter and access data in the reservations system.
- Set up appropriate billing accounts per accounting policies.
Guest and Team Support
- Resolve and document guest problems and concerns or escalate to the appropriate person.
- Assist management in training, scheduling, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees.
- Serve as a role model and first point of contact for the Guarantee of Fair Treatment/Open Door Policy process.
- Greet and acknowledge all guests per company standards and anticipate and address their needs.
- Speak with others using clear and professional language and prepare accurate written documents.
- Cultivate and maintain positive working relationships with others.
- Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing 10 pounds or less without assistance.
- Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors.
Recommended Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Related work experience: At least 2 years of related work experience.
- Supervisory experience: At least 1 year of supervisory experience.
- License or certification: None.
