Role Purpose
The Structural Engineer provides discipline-specific structural engineering support to the project, ensuring structural works are delivered in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and contract requirements.
The role sits within the Projects Engineering Section.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day structural engineering support on site, addressing construction queries, RFIs, and technical clarifications.
- Review structural works on site to verify compliance with approved drawings, specifications, mock-ups, and samples.
- Identify structural site issues, deviations, or non-conformance and support their resolution with the Senior Structural Engineer.
- Review structural shop drawings, material submittals, samples, and method statements for compliance with design intent and specifications.
- Provide clear technical comments to support timely approvals and construction progress.
- Verify that approved shop drawings and materials are correctly implemented on site.
- Prepare and support responses to RFIs, Technical Queries, and site clarifications related to structural works.
- Assist in the investigation, reporting, and close-out of structural NCRs, observations, and quality issues.
- Coordinate with site engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, and suppliers on structural matters.
- Contribute to lessons learned related to structural detailing, constructability, and site execution.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Structural).
- Minimum 5 years of relevant engineering experience within design, construction, or Design & Build project environments.
- Sound working knowledge of building systems and discipline interfaces (architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical).
- Demonstrated experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering deliverables, including design drawings, shop drawings, and technical submissions.
- Proficient in engineering and design software (e.g. AutoCAD, Revit, BIM coordination tools).
