Role Purpose
The Strategy & Transformation Director is responsible for defining, leading, and executing the organization’s strategic agenda and transformation roadmap, ensuring alignment with the company’s long‑term vision and financial objectives.
The role partners closely with the CEO and executive team to translate strategy into actionable programs that deliver measurable business impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and refresh of the corporate strategy, including market/competitor analysis, scenario planning, and strategic priority setting.
- Translate strategic priorities into a clear transformation roadmap with defined initiatives, timelines, KPIs, and accountabilities.
- Design and oversee strategic programs (e.g., operating model changes, digital initiatives, cost optimization, new business models) from concept to implementation.
- Partner with business units and support functions to identify performance gaps and growth opportunities, build business cases, and prioritize initiatives based on value and feasibility.
- Establish and run a Transformation Office / PMO to track progress, manage interdependencies, escalate risks, and ensure timely delivery of initiatives.
- Drive change management and stakeholder engagement to secure sponsorship, build commitment, and support adoption across all levels of the organization.
- Define and monitor strategic and transformation KPIs, regularly reporting progress and recommendations to the CEO, executive committee, and board.
- Lead cross‑functional teams and external partners (consultants, vendors) to deliver high‑impact projects on time and on budget.
- Promote a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and data‑driven decision‑making across the organization.
- Represent the Strategy & Transformation function in key internal and external forums, including investor, regulator, and partner interactions where relevant.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, or related field; MBA or relevant Master’s degree preferred.
- 10–15+ years of experience in corporate strategy, management consulting, business transformation, or related leadership roles, with at least 5 years at senior/Director level.
- Proven track record leading large‑scale transformation programs and delivering measurable financial and operational improvements.
- Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to synthesize complex issues into clear recommendations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and influencing skills, with experience working with C‑suite and board‑level stakeholders.
- Solid understanding of change management, operating model design, and project/program management methodologies.
- Experience in GCC/Qatar or similar emerging markets is an advantage; Arabic language skills are a plus but not mandatory.
