Project Manager/Business Analyst in SMBC Group EMEA's Finance Change Department.

Responsibilities
- Provide technical accounting input, data analysis, solution prototyping and delivery, forecasting, and change testing.
- Analyse and reconcile large financial and non-financial datasets using Excel, SQL Developer and other tools.
- Deliver solutions using business applications, the in-house MI system, Oracle GL and new applications.
- Champion automation and efficiency in Finance reporting.
Required knowledge and experience
- Strong technical and analytical skills in data extraction and analysis, including SQL and Excel with large datasets.
- Relevant technical degree-level education, preferably in accounting or finance.
- Experience conducting workshops with junior and senior stakeholders to gather business requirements.
- Strong numerical and financial skills, including interpreting financial information and designing and using financial models.
- Document, action and test business requirements and change requests; create runbooks and coordinate delivery to plan.
- Experience in commercial or investment banking and familiarity with accounting treatments for vanilla banking products, including derivatives.
Desirable experience and tools
- Qualified or part-qualified accountant status is advantageous.
- Finance transformation or change programme experience in commercial and investment banking is highly desirable.
- Power BI, Alteryx or Python familiarity is highly desirable; understanding of AI in financial services or accounting is preferred.
- Finance-based testing for new product onboarding is highly desirable.
- Experience with Gloss, LoanIQ, Oracle Cloud GL or Oracle on-premises GL is desirable.
- Project management qualifications are advantageous.
Finance Change team
The team manages or supports Finance and wider-business change, system testing, data analysis, and MI-system training and documentation.
Change areas include restructuring, strategic and performance reporting, management accounts, tax, non-prudential regulatory reporting, analytics, data modelling, system change and financial reporting.
