Job Overview

The Steel Sales Executive is responsible for generating new business opportunities, developing relationships with key clients, and ensuring the sale of steel products and services.

This role requires excellent communication and negotiation skills, a deep understanding of the steel industry, and the ability to identify client needs while maximizing profitability.

Key Responsibilities

  • **Business Development:**
  • Identify and target potential clients in industries that require steel products (e.g., construction, manufacturing, automotive).
  • Actively generate leads and develop new business relationships to increase sales.
  • Conduct market research to identify industry trends and competitor activities.
  • **Sales Process Management:**
  • Manage the entire sales cycle, from prospecting to closing deals.
  • Prepare and deliver product presentations, quotes, and proposals.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions to ensure competitive and profitable agreements.
  • **Client Relationship Management:**
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with customers.
  • Address client inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a timely and professional manner.
  • Provide expert guidance and consultation on steel product specifications, applications, and pricing.
  • **Product Knowledge:**
  • Stay informed about the different types of steel products, their specifications, and uses.
  • Provide detailed information about the steel products and services the company offers.
  • **Sales Reporting and Documentation:**
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and contracts.
  • Provide regular updates to management on sales performance, pipeline status, and client feedback.
  • Achieve and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
  • **Collaboration and Coordination:**
  • Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., operations, logistics, and finance) to ensure timely and efficient delivery of products.
  • Assist in coordinating customer orders, ensuring the products are delivered according to the agreed timelines and quality standards.
  • **Market Intelligence:**
  • Continuously monitor the steel market for changes in pricing, availability, and supply-chain dynamics.
  • Keep abreast of competitor activities, pricing strategies, and new product offerings.

Qualifications

  • **Education:**
  • A bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • **Experience:**
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of sales experience, preferably within the steel or manufacturing industry.
  • Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets.
  • **Skills:**
  • Strong knowledge of the steel industry, including product types, specifications, and applications.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and CRM software.
  • **Personal Attributes:**
  • Highly self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and work under pressure.

Working Conditions

  • Full-time, on-site role with travel required to meet clients.
