Staff Software Quality Engineer I

Overview

Responsibilities

• Lead automation testing across web services and API applications.
• Design and maintain scalable automation frameworks using Playwright.
• Perform approximately 25% manual testing and 75% automation testing.
• Define REST API coverage for positive and negative flows.
• Own quality for sprint deliveries, customer releases, patches, and hotfixes.
• Define automation strategy, coding standards, framework architecture, and quality metrics.
• Develop functional, regression, smoke, sanity, integration, and end-to-end test suites.
• Automate REST API testing with Playwright API, Rest Assured, Postman, or similar tools.
• Build mobile automation frameworks with Appium for Android and iOS.
• Integrate test suites with Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
• Collaborate with product, business analysis, development, DevOps, and QA teams.
• Review code, mentor team members, troubleshoot failures, improve coverage, and support banking compliance.

Qualifications

• Requires 8-10 years of software quality assurance and test automation experience, including 2-4 years in a lead role.
• Requires hands-on generative AI experience for testing and automation across the SDLC.
• Requires Selenium WebDriver, Playwright, and Appium experience for web, mobile, and cross-browser automation.
• Requires API automation experience with Playwright API, Rest Assured, Postman, or similar tools.
• Requires proficiency in Java, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
• Requires testing experience across web, mobile, API, and microservices applications.
• Requires experience with CI/CD tools and knowledge of REST, SOAP, GraphQL, JSON, XML, OAuth2, JWT, API Gateway, and microservices architecture.
• Requires BDD/TDD, Agile/Scrum, SDLC/STLC, Git, SQL, and defect-management experience.
• Requires banking and financial-services knowledge, including secure transactions and regulatory compliance.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, AWS/Azure, BrowserStack/LambdaTest, performance, security, accessibility, or visual regression testing is specified.
• Experience with digital banking, payments, loans, cards, customer management, banking APIs, KYC/AML, and financial workflows is desirable.
• Strong leadership, mentoring, stakeholder-management, analytical, and problem-solving skills are required.

Technical Skills

• Required tools and technologies include Playwright, Selenium WebDriver, Appium, Java, JavaScript or TypeScript, API automation tools, CI/CD platforms, Git, SQL, and Jira.
• The role uses AI-powered tools such as ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot, or KIRO for test-case generation, automation development, code optimization, and defect analysis.
