The role requires technical leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and ownership of complex software deliverables from concept through commercial deployment.
Technical Leadership
- Lead end-to-end design and development of IMS software features across signaling, media, and telephony domains.
- Drive architecture reviews, design discussions, and technical decision-making for complex IMS enhancements.
- Provide technical leadership across multiple product lines and programs.
- Mentor engineers in IMS protocols, modem architecture, debugging, and software development practices.
Feature Development and Delivery
- Own requirements analysis, design, implementation, validation, commercialization, and customer support for complete features.
- Deliver operator-specific and customer-driven IMS requirements.
- Develop capabilities including VoLTE, VoNR, VoWiFi, SMS over IMS, emergency calling, registration enhancements, Multi-SIM, data switching, EPS fallback, and call continuity.
- Ensure compliance with 3GPP, GSMA, carrier, and regulatory requirements.
Integration and Debugging
- Work with modem, NAS, RRC, MMCP, telephony, Android Framework, data services, and carrier testing teams.
- Analyze issues involving SIP signaling, RTP media, registration failures, handover and mobility, emergency calls, and network interoperability.
- Lead root-cause analysis and closure of field and laboratory issues.
Collaboration and Innovation
- Interface with architects, product management, verification, carrier certification, and customer teams.
- Drive technical reviews and project planning across global engineering teams.
- Act as an IMS subject matter expert for commercialization and customer engagements.
- Drive innovation in IMS architecture, performance optimization, AI-assisted workflows, automation, patents, proofs of concept, and engineering quality.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Telecommunications, Information Science, or a related engineering discipline.
- 8–12 years of software development experience.
- At least 5 years of hands-on IMS, VoLTE, VoNR, or telecom protocol development experience.
