Sr Transportation Analyst Ecommerce

Role overview

Key responsibilities

• Identify transportation trends, root causes, opportunities, and actions using performance data and reporting.
• Translate analytics, dashboards, and performance insights into clear recommendations for leaders and cross-functional partners.
• Analyze carrier performance and support carrier business reviews, corrective actions, and commitment tracking.
• Optimize transportation costs by analyzing shipment costs, carrier mix, rates, surcharges, accessorials, and invoices.
• Manage transportation optimization and continuous improvement workstreams and measure outcomes.
• Develop shipment forecasts using historical performance, growth, seasonality, promotions, and service mix.
• Support peak planning, identify capacity and service risks, and develop mitigation plans.
• Evaluate transportation impacts of fulfillment methods, carrier services, network changes, and strategic initiatives.
• Lead cross-functional problem solving with Technology, Store Operations, Supply Chain Planning, Digital, and carriers.
• Prepare leadership-ready and carrier-ready presentations, recommendations, and business updates.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience in a logistics, distribution, or supply chain environment.
• Project management and strong analytical skills are required.
• Previous vendor or carrier management and process improvement experience are preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required; advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills are preferred.
• The role requires communication with carriers and distribution centers by telephone and Teams meetings.
• The role requires flexibility to work overtime and weekends when needed.

Working conditions

• The role requires working six days per month in the Ulta Beauty Corporate Office in Bolingbrook, Illinois.
• The position includes approximately 10% travel.

Compensation

• The annual pay range is USD 79,900 to USD 102,000, with potential additional compensation under the company bonus plan.
