Role overview

Responsibilities

• Design test strategies and cases for web services and functional and non-functional requirements.
• Test REST and SOAP APIs, request-response flows, data accuracy, and system integrations.
• Create SQL data sets to validate business rules, transformations, and billing scenarios.
• Build and run Postman collections for regression and smoke testing.
• Use SoapUI to model service contracts and validate SOAP responses.
• Test end-to-end billing and revenue workflows using interface, SQL, and API checks.
• Document reproducible defects with steps, logs, payloads, and SQL evidence.
• Work with developers, product analysts, and operations partners to clarify requirements and align test coverage.
• Analyze results, identify recurring defects and coverage gaps, and recommend improvements.
• Improve test processes, templates, test data management, and tool use.
• Validate releases and perform production-readiness sanity checks.
• Maintain traceability from requirements to test cases and results; share testing practices with peers.

Qualifications

• Understand test design, defect lifecycle, risk-based testing, and regression optimization for service-oriented systems.
• Strong Postman API testing skills, including collections, environments, parameterization, and validation scripts.
• Advanced SQL skills for joins, business-rule checks, data integrity, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to use SoapUI for functional, regression, and data-driven SOAP tests and assertions.
• Ability to interpret and test REST specifications, endpoints, methods, payloads, responses, and error handling.
• Billing and revenue management experience is useful when available.
• Clear cross-functional communication and adaptability to changing priorities and new integrations.
• Disciplined test planning, execution, and evidence collection in an Agile environment.
• ISTQB Foundation Level, Certified Software Test Professional, or equivalent software testing or quality assurance certification is required.
