Role overview

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor the project EHS Management Plan and ensure compliance with applicable requirements.
• Conduct inspections, audits, risk assessments, and compliance reviews; review method statements, JSAs, lifting plans, and permit-to-work documents.
• Monitor high-risk construction activities, including excavation, lifting, temporary works, utility works, traffic diversions, and road construction.
• Lead incident and near-miss investigations, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and management of EHS and subcontractor teams.
• Deliver inductions, toolbox talks, awareness campaigns, and emergency drills; coordinate traffic and road-safety measures.
• Monitor dust, noise, waste, spills, and pollution controls; maintain EHS records and prepare weekly and monthly reports.
• Promote a proactive safety culture and support the project’s zero-incident objective.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in engineering, occupational health and safety, environmental science, or a related discipline.
• 10–15 years of EHS experience in roads, highways, infrastructure, or major civil/EPC projects.
• UAE/GCC project experience is required; RTA road or infrastructure project experience in Dubai is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of construction safety, traffic management, risk assessment, incident investigation, environmental controls, and UAE EHS regulations.
• Strong leadership, communication, coordination, and reporting skills.
• Recognized EHS certification such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent is preferred.

• EHS/HSE management, risk assessment and JSA, safety audits and site inspections, incident investigation and root-cause analysis.
• Traffic management and road safety, high-risk construction activities, environmental management, and emergency preparedness.
• Subcontractor safety management, EHS training and awareness, and EHS documentation and reporting.
