Site Inspections and Risk Management
- Conduct detailed Job Safety Analysis for transformer installation, cable pulling, and switchyard gantry erection.
- Manage and audit the Permit-to-Work system before personnel enter energized zones.
- Strictly enforce Lockout/Tagout procedures so equipment is de-energized and safe for work.
Technical Safety Oversight
- Ensure tools and PPE, including arc-rated clothing and insulated gloves, meet voltage requirements and are properly tested.
- Verify that temporary grounding is correctly applied during construction.
- Oversee shoring and underground utility detection during substation trenching and grounding-grid work.
Training and Compliance
- Conduct site-specific safety orientations for contractors and visitors.
- Lead daily toolbox talks focused on scheduled high-risk activities.
- Lead root cause analyses for near-misses and accidents and implement corrective actions.
