Role overview

ScaleupAlly seeks a Senior Power BI Developer with strong Power BI, SQL, DAX, data modeling, and BI expertise, plus an understanding of data engineering and modern data platforms.

The role builds end-to-end BI solutions, including data transformation, modeling, dashboards, and performance optimization, in collaboration with data engineers and business stakeholders.

Required qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in any discipline, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 4–6 years of hands-on experience in Power BI development, SQL, DAX, and data modeling.

Skills and platforms

  • Listed skills include Power BI, DAX, SQL, Power Query, data modeling, ETL/ELT, Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric, data warehousing, Lakehouse, SQL Server/Azure SQL, Python, Spark/PySpark, Delta Lake, Git, and Power BI Service.
  • Preferred experience includes Snowflake, Azure Synapse Analytics, dbt, or Airflow; CI/CD and Azure DevOps; Microsoft Fabric end-to-end; data governance and security; enterprise BI architecture; APIs; and cloud-based data sources.

Duties

  • Develop and maintain advanced Power BI dashboards and reports using DAX, Power Query, data modeling, RLS, and Power BI Service.
  • Design and manage end-to-end ETL/ELT pipelines; write and optimize SQL; and design scalable star-schema models with fact and dimension tables.
  • Work with SQL Server, Azure SQL, Snowflake, Azure Synapse, and Lakehouse environments; use Python, Spark/PySpark, and Delta Lake for processing and automation.
  • Integrate data from databases, APIs, files, and transactional systems; ensure data quality; and optimize reporting, models, pipelines, and refresh performance.
  • Troubleshoot data flow from source systems through pipelines and warehouses or lakehouses to Power BI; perform reconciliation, root-cause analysis, and issue resolution.
  • Collaborate with data engineers, business analysts, and stakeholders; follow Git practices; contribute to standards and documentation; mentor junior team members; and own solutions through deployment and optimization.

Working hours

  • Working hours are 10:00 AM–7:00 PM.
  • The schedule is five days per week, with the first and third Saturdays working.

Compensation

  • Pay is ₹800,000–₹1,000,000 per year.
