Senior Civil Engineer responsible for earthworks, deep excavation, piling, shoring, and dewatering on a high-rise building construction project in Dubai.
The role requires independent, hands-on management and execution of earthworks and piling activities.
Earthworks and excavation
- Plan, manage, and execute bulk and deep excavation works.
- Supervise soil removal, hauling, disposal, backfilling, grading, and compaction.
- Plan excavation sequences, equipment deployment, manpower allocation, and site logistics.
- Monitor daily excavation quantities, equipment productivity, progress, and costs.
Piling and foundation works
- Manage bored piling, pile drilling, reinforcement cage installation, and concrete casting.
- Supervise piling subcontractors, rigs, equipment mobilization, and site operations.
- Coordinate PIT, PDA, and static load testing, as applicable.
- Review piling shop drawings, method statements, inspection requests, and quality records.
- Monitor piling progress, productivity, quality compliance, and technical issues.
- Coordinate pile head trimming and cut-off levels, and hand over work for pile caps and foundations.
Shoring and site execution
- Coordinate shoring installation, excavation support systems, and temporary works.
- Supervise dewatering and groundwater control during excavation; ensure stability and safe working conditions.
- Manage daily earthworks and piling execution, subcontractors, equipment, manpower, and site resources.
- Prepare construction schedules, work sequences, and productivity targets; coordinate with consultants, geotechnical engineers, surveyors, and project teams.
- Monitor quality, HSE compliance, progress, and costs; resolve issues to support timely completion.
Candidate requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- 10–15 years of construction experience, including at least five years in the UAE.
- Hands-on experience in both earthworks and piling works is essential.
- Deep excavation and foundation experience on high-rise residential or commercial buildings.
- Practical knowledge of bored piling, pile testing, excavation support, and dewatering systems.
- Ability to independently manage earthworks and piling subcontractors.
- Strong knowledge of heavy equipment operations, construction planning, and site execution.
- Leadership, technical coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with reputable UAE main contractors or specialist earthworks and piling contractors is preferred.
