Sr. BIM Engineer – Architectural

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Lead review, coordination, and validation of contractor BIM deliverables against the BEP, EIR, and applicable BIM standards.
• Review BIM model content, data structures, and documentation outputs for completeness, accuracy, consistency, and compliance.
• Review architectural plans, elevations, sections, layouts, façades, doors, windows, finishes, and other model elements.
• Coordinate architectural models with structural, MEP, and other disciplines to resolve clashes, interfaces, and design discrepancies.
• Verify deliverables against approved designs, specifications, project standards, codes, and regulations.
• Respond to technical BIM queries and escalate complex matters to the Resident Engineer or BIM Manager as appropriate.
• Coordinate and document weekly contractor and client BIM review meetings; track issues, actions, decisions, and clashes to resolution.
• Monitor quality and timely submission of architectural BIM models, shop drawings, and project documentation.
• Assist with implementing BIM workflows, tools, and digital delivery processes.
• Mentor BIM Coordinators and site team members.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or a related discipline.
• At least 12 years of relevant architectural BIM modeling, coordination, model review, or similar experience.
• Strong BIM coordination and model review experience for building, infrastructure, or airport projects.
• Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, Navisworks Manage, and AutoCAD.
• Dynamo, Civil 3D, and Bentley applications are advantageous.
• BIM certification from BSI, BRE, or an equivalent recognized organization.
• Autodesk Certified Professional or equivalent relevant Autodesk certification.
• Strong understanding of architectural design, building layouts, façades, finishes, and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Experience in clash detection, BIM quality assurance, model validation, and contractor deliverable reviews.
• Understanding of BEPs, EIRs, BIM standards, and digital delivery procedures.
• Strong communication, coordination, reporting, and stakeholder management skills; able to coordinate with project stakeholders and multidisciplinary site teams.
• Strong contractor-management experience on large-scale projects; serve as the primary on-site BIM contact and escalation point.
