Role overview

Star Gallery Mart is a UAE retail and e-commerce company with retail branches, a website, and a mobile application.

The Software Test Engineer will assure the quality, functionality, performance, and stability of the company's software platforms.

The role is full-time, permanent, and on-site in Sharjah, UAE.

Responsibilities

  • Gather and understand requirements, product specifications, and user stories.
  • Prepare test plans, scenarios, cases, and scripts; maintain and execute test cases.
  • Manually test web and mobile applications, admin systems, and related software across browsers, devices, operating systems, and screen sizes.
  • Identify, reproduce, document, and report bugs with clear steps and supporting evidence.
  • Track defects until they are resolved and closed; perform regression testing and retesting after fixes and releases.
  • Conduct functional, integration, usability, compatibility, and end-to-end testing.
  • Run load, stress, and performance tests; report stability, response time, scalability, and bottlenecks.
  • Test APIs and integrations with third-party services and internal systems when required.
  • Verify features against approved requirements before deployment and help catch critical issues before release.
  • Improve QA processes, document results, maintain quality metrics, and communicate product quality and release readiness.
  • Work with developers to reproduce issues and verify fixes, and coordinate testing phases to meet release timelines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • At least two years of professional software testing or QA experience; previous work as a Software Tester, QA Engineer, or QA Analyst.
  • Strong practical experience with manual testing and good understanding of SDLC, STLC, and testing methodologies.
  • Experience preparing test cases, scenarios, bug reports, and QA documentation, and using defect-tracking tools.
  • Knowledge of regression, functional, integration, usability, compatibility, and performance testing.
  • Experience testing web and mobile applications is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum is preferred; basic API testing and performance testing tool experience are advantages.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and clear written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to explain technical issues, reproduce bugs, work independently, and collaborate with developers and other teams.
