Software Test Engineer / QA Engineer

Role overview

Test planning and execution

• Gather requirements, product specifications and user stories; prepare and maintain test plans, scenarios, cases and scripts.
• Perform manual testing of web, mobile, admin and related software across browsers, devices, operating systems and screen sizes.
• Conduct functional, integration, usability, compatibility and end-to-end testing.
• Test APIs, third-party services and internal integrations where required.

Defects and performance

• Identify, reproduce, document and report bugs with clear steps and supporting screenshots, videos, logs or other information when required.
• Track defects through resolution and closure; perform regression testing and retesting after fixes, updates and releases.
• Run load, stress and performance tests; report stability, response-time and scalability issues or bottlenecks.

Quality and release coordination

• Verify that new features meet approved requirements before deployment and help identify critical issues before customer release.
• Maintain QA documentation and quality metrics, identify testing gaps and recurring defects, and improve testing processes.
• Share product-quality and release-readiness feedback with stakeholders; work with developers to reproduce issues and verify fixes.
• Coordinate testing phases with developers to complete work on time for each release.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or a related discipline.
• At least two years of professional software testing or QA experience; prior work as a Software Tester, QA Engineer or QA Analyst.
• Strong practical manual-testing experience and understanding of SDLC, STLC and testing methodologies.
• Experience creating test cases, scenarios, bug reports and QA documentation, and using defect-tracking tools.
• Knowledge of regression, functional, integration, usability, compatibility and performance testing.
• Web and mobile testing experience is preferred; Agile/Scrum familiarity is preferred.
• Basic API testing and experience with load, stress or performance testing tools are advantageous.
