EDGE seeks a Software Test Engineer II with a strong background in embedded systems and aviation software testing.
Responsibilities
- Design and maintain test cases from requirements and design documents; execute manual and automated functional, performance, and safety testing.
- Ensure compliance with RTCA DO-178C and manage the full testing lifecycle from planning through execution, defect reporting, and completion.
- Oversee testing for embedded and avionics-related systems; mentor the team on test automation and CI practices.
- Improve QA strategies and methodologies and collaborate with cross-functional teams on system integration and validation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- At least five years of software testing experience for embedded systems in the aerospace or defence industry.
- Strong experience with RTCA DO-178C standards and regulatory compliance; ability to develop and execute test cases, plans, and procedures.
- Proficiency with test automation tools; Rapita Verification Suite experience is preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of JIRA and the Atlassian suite for defect tracking and team collaboration.
Preferred skills
- Technical and line management experience is preferred.
- Automated testing frameworks and tools, Agile, TDD, and strong analytical and communication skills are preferred.
