People leadership
- Inspire, motivate, and directly manage engineers.
- Work with product and engineering peers across time zones; nurture talent and foster collaboration.
- Lead by example through ownership, proactive work, and partnership with other teams.
Technology and delivery
- Own engineering planning, delivery, technical quality, and team best practices.
- Support strategic objectives, embed agile working, and coach the team on technical detail.
- Promote ownership and technical excellence, including responding to incident escalations.
- Learn and share technologies and contribute to departmental best practices.
Architecture and product strategy
- Define, shape, and deliver the team roadmap.
- Build products, processes, and operational plans; advocate for roadmap priorities and drive innovation.
- Own the team's architecture and promote architectural alignment.
What you'll bring
- Strong people-management skills and experience; excellent communication and stakeholder management.
- Commercial awareness and technical vision; a thoughtful, collaborative leadership approach.
- 6+ years of software development experience and at least 3 years leading and managing engineers.
- Strong coding and system-design skills, with ability to get hands-on as needed.
- Experience with Java, Kafka, and MySQL or relevant technologies.
