Role overview

Responsibilities

• Lead and coach a team across backend, frontend, cloud, DevOps, production support, and release validation.
• Provide technical leadership for a .NET/C#, API, React/Redux, and Azure-based production application while leading migration to AWS.
• Set modernization and architecture direction, including AWS target-state design, scalability, reliability, maintainability, and developer productivity.
• Own roadmap delivery, technical debt, operational improvements, incidents, release readiness, and production support.
• Coordinate with Product, Data Engineering, QA, DevOps, Support, and business stakeholders on plans, backlog, acceptance criteria, and outcomes.
• Improve code quality, testing, observability, releases, incident learning, service-level objectives, and responsible AI coding practices.
• Bring complex or partner-built components into the team's long-term ownership.
• Strengthen reliability across multi-tenant access, background processing, messaging, integrations, and data platform dependencies.

Required qualifications

• Recent hands-on experience designing, building, reviewing, and operating production web applications; this is not a people-only management role.
• Strong background in .NET/C#, API development, React or comparable SPA frameworks, and modern web application architecture.
• Experience leading engineering teams through delivery planning, technical decisions, production support, and release execution.
• Working knowledge of the current Azure production stack or comparable services, plus hands-on AWS experience for platform migration.
• Hands-on AWS production workload experience, including cloud migration or platform cutover.
• Practical AI-assisted software development experience with Cursor or a closely comparable AI coding assistant/IDE, maintaining human accountability for production quality.
• Experience with CI/CD, release engineering, environment management, and build/deployment workflow improvements.
• Production experience with incident management, root-cause analysis, observability, service health, and reliability improvement.
• Strong Product or Product Owner collaboration on backlog shaping, acceptance criteria, tradeoffs, and roadmap execution.
• Ability to coach engineers at all experience levels while balancing technical guidance and people leadership.

Additional experience

• Power BI, embedded analytics, or other BI/reporting platforms are a plus.
• Deeper AWS architecture, multi-tenant architecture, hierarchical customer access, frontend modernization, warehousing, ETL, or data platform experience is beneficial.
• Experience establishing AI-assisted development standards, including review practices, security guardrails, or productivity measurement, is beneficial.
