Role overview

Quality engineering and testing

• Design, develop, and maintain automated tests for UI, APIs, and end-to-end user journeys.
• Execute manual and automated testing for functionality, reliability, and performance.
• Define test coverage for microservices and mini-app applications.
• Identify defects early and support shift-left testing in requirements and design discussions.

Software engineering contribution

• Develop understanding of frontend and backend systems, APIs, workflows, and microservices architecture.
• Contribute to debugging, root cause analysis, and production issue troubleshooting.
• Write test utilities, frameworks, and supporting code using Java or JavaScript.
• Collaborate on testability, observability, code reviews, and technical discussions.

Collaboration and quality practices

• Work with developers, senior engineers, QA engineers, and product owners to deliver user-focused solutions.
• Participate in sprint ceremonies, planning sessions, and team discussions.
• Follow best practices in testing, automation, CI/CD, and software engineering.
• Improve testing frameworks, tooling, maintainability, reliability, and engineering practices.

Learning and growth

• Continuously expand technical, testing, product, and domain knowledge.
• Stay current with QA, automation, cloud-native systems, and modern development practices.
• Explore AI-assisted tools to improve productivity and testing effectiveness.
• Progressively take ownership of larger testing areas and initiatives.

Required qualifications

• 3-8 years of experience in software testing or quality engineering.
• Good understanding of software engineering principles and the software development lifecycle.
• Familiarity with Java or JavaScript programming.
• Understanding of distributed architectures and synchronous and asynchronous communication patterns.
• Experience with API and UI testing tools or frameworks such as Cypress, Playwright, or similar.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and agile development practices.
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and ownership of quality.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with distributed architectures and modern test automation practices.
• Strong understanding of databases, SQL, and data validation techniques.
• Exposure to Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, RabbitMQ, or cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Strong understanding of performance and security testing.
• Basic understanding of AI concepts and interest in AI-assisted quality tools.
