Role and team

The Platform Services team designs, creates, manages, and maintains scalable distributed services for web and mobile products.

The services use a microservices architecture and support domains including visitor tracking, user profiles, authentication, content, and payments.

The platform uses .NET, Python, Java, SQL Server, MySQL, graph databases, and Solr to support large-scale products and transactions.

What you will do

  • Conduct data-science work involving predictive modeling, NLP, statistical analysis, vector-space modeling, and machine learning.
  • Research user datasets, develop models, and create data products with Development and Product teams.
  • Develop scalable data systems with system architects, applying machine-learning techniques to improve user experience.

What you will need

  • Software Engineer (Search & Match): 2.5 or more years of experience; Senior Software Engineer (Search & Match): 4.5 or more years of experience.
  • Expert Python knowledge and experience with statistical and machine-learning algorithms.
  • Practical LLM/RAG search experience covering query understanding, semantic retrieval, and reranker design.
  • Experience with prompt-engineering frameworks such as LangChain or CrewAI; Solr, OpenSearch, or Elasticsearch; embeddings and vector search; and at least one LLM fine-tuning project.
  • Experience with feature selection and classifier optimization; backend technologies such as Flask or Gunicorn; and libraries such as spaCy, NLTK, Gensim, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
  • Experience with software-stack components such as backend technologies, database modeling, continuous integration, service-oriented architecture, and software testability.
  • A keen interest in learning and developing software.
