About the Role

Platform Science is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for its Orion Fleet Management System department in Chennai.

The role contributes to cloud-native, full-stack development of high-performance software for fleet solutions and reports to an Engineering Manager.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable applications using Node.js, Vue.js, React.js, and TypeScript.
  • Create internal and external APIs and optimize schemas for PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Elasticsearch environments.
  • Deploy and manage applications on AWS with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Write modular, testable code and perform unit, integration, and performance testing using tools such as Jest or Enzyme.
  • Work with Product Managers and Architects on technical specifications and automate CI/CD pipelines with DevOps.

Required Experience

  • Have at least 4 years of professional software development experience focused on Node.js, Vue.js, and React.js.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in TypeScript and modern frontend build tools such as Webpack.
  • Understand microservices architecture and event-driven patterns such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
  • Have hands-on AWS and cloud deployment experience.
  • Have in-depth database management knowledge across SQL Server, PostgreSQL, TimescaleDB, or Elasticsearch.
  • Hold a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with React state management libraries such as Redux.
  • Familiarity with Test-Driven Development.
  • Experience with Agile tools such as Jira or Rally.

Candidate Traits

Strong interpersonal communication skills for cross-functional, international collaboration.

A proactive willingness to learn cloud and microservices technologies.

Attention to clean code and software engineering best practices.
