Role and team

Engineering work

• Research, design, develop, analyze, test, and implement software operating or application systems.
• Build and support scalable, secure, high-performing software using Angular, Nest.js, and Node.js on the front end and Python on the back end.
• Influence architecture, engineering standards, and best practices; lead complex initiatives from concept through implementation.
• Mentor engineers through technical guidance, code reviews, design discussions, and knowledge sharing.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to translate business objectives into technical solutions and identify delivery risks.
• Improve software quality, reliability, observability, and operational excellence through testing, automation, and data-informed decisions.
• Contribute to event-driven architecture, microservices, BFF, service/data mesh, and platform modernization.
• Design and work with PostgreSQL and Yugabyte data layers; apply AI-assisted development and integrate AI/ML services.
• Lead troubleshooting of complex production issues and communicate status, documentation, and significant problems.

Qualifications

• Formal education and experience in software engineering are described; equivalent relevant experience may substitute for education, generally year for year subject to hiring manager discretion.
• The posting describes both early-to-mid-career contribution and senior-level leadership, including mentoring and technical direction.
• Ability to deliver complex systems, work across teams, communicate project information, and balance quality and speed amid changing priorities.

Preferred and bonus experience

• Bonus experience includes NestJS or another structured Node.js backend framework; Python, Django, or comparable backend technologies.
• Bonus experience includes AWS or another major cloud platform, cloud-native applications, and legacy modernization.
• Bonus experience includes Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, infrastructure automation, observability, and production troubleshooting.
• Bonus experience includes PostgreSQL or other relational databases; OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML, Kafka, Pulsar, or enterprise APIs.
• Bonus experience includes AI-assisted development tools, Git, GitHub, JIRA, Visual Studio Code, and Agile or Scrum.

Work location and travel

• Full-time, in-office position requiring five days per week in the Salt Lake City, Utah office.
• Occasional travel up to 20%, including one or two company summits per year and possible conferences or visits to company locations.
• The employer is unable to provide visa sponsorship.

Pay range

• The stated pay range is $118,900 to $178,500; no compensation cadence is specified.
• The role is eligible for bonuses.
